If we are allowed to think bey...Lupus Incomitatus,

If we are allowed to think beyond the event horizon of 2014.

Assuming that Scotland does not crash and burn post independence, and it won't, I would think that all it's regions absent the South East will wonder quite what a pig in a poke they have been sold.

Newsnet Scotland ran an article about 'shovel ready' projects that Scotland could use to adopt a Keynsian approach to our economic difficulties. They amounted to around £320 million pounds. This was compared and contrasted to a single upgrade of Reading Railway Station of £850 million pounds. This is the 'secret' that the South East always uses. An upgrade to the Ministry of Defence HQ in London cost vastly more than the Hollyrood Parliament. No-one knows or appears to care.

If you were vaguely interested in, say Monet, you would benefit the London economy every time you wanted to view Water Lilies. You would, perhaps, arrive in London via our only TGV link. The hinterland would be an alien country to you. It is not almost deliberate, it is deliberate.

The battle in England, post independence, will be different from the Lab / Con dogfight we see now. Economically viable regions will ask themselves just what they get from their partnership with the parasitical South East. The South East will be as arrogant as ever and probably become an expanded city state.

Let them work out their own destiny. We have enough to worry about. That said, the English are not stupid. And they do have resources in agriculture and industry. They do not need a Borisland as their anchor. A land of funny money and funnier haircuts.douglas clarkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11422060678908705962noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3874384585810528859.post-19196304523669558322012-04-28T17:48:24.183+00:002012-04-28T17:48:24.183+00:00Hazel, it is worse than that, Scotland pumps more ...Hazel, it is worse than that, Scotland pumps more into the UK than even the GERS figures, much much more of which is hidden subsidies.

Shorn of FUKRS (Former United Kingdom Rump State) Scotland would be catapulted into an elite group of countries actually in budgetary surplus.

This is what AS is assuaging when he says Scotland will stay in the Sterling zone; not to protect Scotland but England et al. I expect he will do some deal on the nuclear weapons to allow Cameron, or whoever, to retain a seat of the G7 and the Security Council; free rides on Air Force 1 and photo ops with el Presidente.

The British Empire was always founded as an economic empire, just like the Roma one. It pillaged the riches from the colonies, tried to populate the weaker ones with transplanted Brits and ruled the others by way of creating a client local honorary English ruling class. I

This Empire has retreated, colony by colony, until the British Isles plus a few other scattered territories exist. It will still pillage the Falklands, if it can of its oil.

London and the SE of England is now living off Scotland and the other areas of the UK. It would not surprise me if the SE became a city state, like Singapore and Hong Kong, once nothing remains of the NE of England, its Midlands, Wales and the Cornish Peninsula

What remains after Scotland leaves will be two party state similar to the USA. Same party, different coloured logos and differentiation by way of media spin and various updated techniques of propaganda.

It is about money, it always was.

We just never saw it.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3874384585810528859.post-25351201204052963382012-04-28T16:50:59.312+00:002012-04-28T16:50:59.312+00:00Can this be printed and sent out to everybody in S...Can this be printed and sent out to everybody in Scotland? Can we build radio station? like the Celtic radio station and broadcast the truth? Could ask the Celtic station to take it as an advert or a documentary, but we must get some good publicity and my doubts are fading I should trust the SNP government more, there must be some tricks and truths still up the sleeves.I hope so.Charles O'Brien.https://www.blogger.com/profile/10778040983298966024noreply@blogger.com
